Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how VerseBattles collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the VerseBattles website, game, multiplayer features, custom-world tools, and related services.
1. Who operates VerseBattles
VerseBattles is operated by Michael Fackerell. If you have privacy questions or want to make a privacy request, contact michaelfackerell@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Username and profile details you choose to provide.
- Email address and profile image made available through Clerk when you sign in or register.
- World names, descriptions, mission content, share codes, group information, and other content you create in the game.
- Messages or information you send when contacting support.
Information collected automatically
- Gameplay events, feature usage, session timing, and device/browser information through Google Analytics 4 and similar internal logging.
- Technical information such as IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, operating system, referral URL, and crash or error information.
- Local settings and progress stored in your browser, including offline mode preference and local game state.
3. How we use information
- To provide the game, authenticate users, maintain accounts, and save gameplay progress.
- To operate multiplayer rooms, groups, custom worlds, mission editing, and sharing features.
- To measure feature usage, improve gameplay balance, investigate bugs, and protect the service.
- To respond to requests, enforce rules, and comply with legal obligations.
- To detect abuse, fraud, cheating, security incidents, or misuse of the service.
4. Authentication, analytics, and service providers
We use third-party providers to help operate VerseBattles. Those providers may process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.

- Google Analytics 4 is used to measure site and gameplay usage. See Google's Analytics privacy information.
- Hosting, database, infrastructure, logging, and security providers may process technical and account-related information as needed to run the service.
We do not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Multiplayer, user-created content, and visibility
- Your username and certain gameplay information may be visible to other players in multiplayer rooms, lobbies, groups, leaderboards, and shared worlds.
- Worlds, missions, and related content you publish or share may be visible to other users depending on the visibility settings you choose.
- Please do not include sensitive personal information in usernames, world descriptions, mission text, or any content intended to be shared with others.
6. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies
- We use browser local storage and similar technologies to remember settings, offline preferences, and local gameplay state.
- Authentication providers may use cookies or similar session technologies.
- Analytics providers may use cookies, device identifiers, or other persistent identifiers to measure usage and performance.
7. Children and age-related restrictions
VerseBattles is not intended for children under 13 to create accounts or provide personal information directly. Registered accounts are intended only for users who meet the applicable age requirements presented in the product.
- If you are under 13, do not create an account or submit personal information through the service.
- If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information in violation of this policy, contact us and we will investigate and, where appropriate, delete the information.
- Guest or offline play may still involve technical data collection necessary to run, secure, and measure the service.
8. Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, improve the game, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary depending on the kind of information involved.
- Account and progress data may be retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward.
- Analytics, technical logs, and backup copies may persist for limited periods based on operational needs.
- Published or shared content may remain visible until removed, unpublished, or deleted from active systems and backups in the normal course.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International processing
Your information may be processed or stored in countries other than the one where you live, including countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws.
11. Your choices and privacy requests
- You can choose not to create an account and use guest or offline features where available.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of information we maintain about you by contacting michaelfackerell@gmail.com.
- If applicable privacy laws give you additional rights, we will handle qualifying requests in accordance with those laws, subject to verification and any lawful exceptions.
- Because we do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, a separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism is not presently offered.
12. California and similar U.S. privacy disclosures
Depending on where you live and whether applicable law covers our activities, you may have rights to request access to categories or specific pieces of information, deletion, correction, and information about disclosure practices. To make a request, email michaelfackerell@gmail.com.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights, subject to lawful limitations and the practical requirements of operating the service.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes become effective when posted on this page, unless a different date is stated. Continued use of the service after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
